Our educators thoughts on the Soft Toys range

We look for varied textures and absolute safety. The tactile experience is crucial for sensory regulation, so we choose fabrics that feel distinct—whether that is a silky ear, a bumpy corduroy, or a weighted body. We check that eyes and seams are secure enough to withstand intense affection and dragging around.

We also consider the 'poseability' of the toy. Soft toys that can sit up or have flexible limbs are better for role-play because they can participate in tea parties or sit in a stroller. This supports the shift from using the toy as a comfort object to using it as a play partner.

Hygiene is a practical factor we always check. We prioritise toys that can be surface washed or laundered, as a favourite comforter will inevitably need cleaning. We look for materials that maintain their texture after a wash.
