We chose The Freckled Frog for their direct developmental focus. Their construction series, for example, allows children to build large-scale worlds that stand up easily, reducing the frustration often found in building. They also lead the market in emotional literacy toys, providing tools for children to identify and name their feelings.

We observe children using these sets to make sense of the world around them. The diversity in their people figures allows all children to find representation in their play. When building with their construction sets, children practice spatial reasoning and collaboration, often working together to create towns or structures that incorporate their other toys.
