Our educators thoughts on the Vehicles and Construction range

Pushing vehicles is often one of the first ways children explore gross motor trajectory and cause-and-effect. They learn how much force is needed to send a car across the room versus just a few centimetres. Construction vehicles add fine motor complexity, requiring two-handed coordination to drive the vehicle while operating the working parts.

We select vehicles based on the quality of the moving parts. Wheels should roll smoothly on various surfaces, and articulated parts like crane arms or dump beds must be sturdy enough to handle actual dirt or sand. We prefer vehicles that rely on child-power rather than batteries, as this encourages more active engagement and imaginative sound effects.
