Our educators thoughts on the Literacy & Numeracy range

We strictly vet these resources for accuracy and clarity. We look for standard fonts that match what children will see in the classroom, avoiding confusing stylised letters. For numeracy, we prioritise colour-coding that supports mathematical thinking, such as distinct colours for place value or consistent grouping in counters.

A key criterion for us is the tactile element. A child remembers the shape of a letter better if they can trace it with their finger or build it from parts. We avoid resources that are essentially just 'worksheets on plastic' and instead choose items that require manipulation and movement.

These tools work best when used in short bursts. We look for open-ended resources that can be integrated into other play—like using counters in a pretend shop or magnetic letters on the fridge—rather than items that feel like a formal lesson.
