Our educators thoughts on the Blocks range

Blocks are deceptively simple but developmentally dense. They introduce early math concepts like fractions, symmetry, and volume physically. When a child realizes two small squares equal one rectangle, they're doing geometry. The lack of connecting mechanisms forces children to focus on balance and gravity, which builds focus and steady hands.

We look for weight, texture, and mathematical precision. Blocks need enough heft to stack stably; light, hollow blocks frustrate children because they tumble too easily. We also check that the shapes are mathematically relative—two small blocks should match the height of one large block exactly—to support that subconscious math learning.
