Our educators thoughts on the Games range

Games are a powerhouse for social-emotional learning. We select games that have a clear mechanic—whether it is cooperation, strategy, or luck—so children can focus on the social aspect of play. We look for distinct 'win' states and rules that are simple enough to be understood quickly but complex enough to remain engaging.

Durability is a major factor in our selection process. Game components need to withstand frustration and excitement. We also look for games that scale well, offering variations for different ability levels so siblings of different ages can play together without the younger one feeling excluded.

We often recommend cooperative games for children who struggle with losing. These shift the focus from 'me against you' to 'us against the game,' which builds teamwork and communication skills without the immediate pressure of competition.
