Our educators thoughts on the Stacking Toys range

This is where early math begins. Sorting is essentially data management—grouping things by colour, shape, or size. Stacking teaches sequencing and structural integrity. When a toddler tries to put a big ring on top of a small one and it wobbles, they learn about stability and order through direct experience.

We look for self-correcting design. A shape sorter should only allow the square block through the square hole; if it fits in the circle hole, it confuses the learning process. We also value tactile contrast—wood, silicone, and textured plastics give the brain more sensory information to work with than smooth, uniform surfaces.
