Care play that goes where they go
Olive is a 32 cm baby boy doll from Djeco's Pomea range, made from firm vinyl and designed for the bath. He is light, so a toddler can carry him on one arm, tuck him into a pram or lay him on a cushion without a struggle. Because he is waterproof, the play does not have to stop at the bathroom door.
Built for bath-time play
Most dolls can't go near water, so bath-time pretend play stays on the shelf. Olive's body is sealed, so no water gets inside him. That means a quick wipe and an air dry after the bath, with no trapped water to worry about. Supervise all water play and never leave a child alone in or near water.
Small routines that build real skills
Washing him, wrapping him in a towel and settling him down gives toddlers a sequence to act out: wash, dry, feed, sleep. Gripping, carrying and wrapping a doll of this size builds hand strength and two-handed coordination, and talking through each step builds early language. Playing the caring role also helps toddlers practise gentle handling and empathy.
How his play grows
At 18 months it is about hugging, carrying and copying. At 2 to 3 years the play grows into sequences: bath, dress, feed, bed. By 4 he is a character in bigger stories alongside pram walks, doll's furniture and kitchen play. He is silent, needs no batteries and works for solo play or side by side with a sibling or friend.
