Six crafts, one animal theme
Open the box and you'll find a different technique waiting in every section. There's a painting board with paint tablets and a brush, two scratch-art cards with a wooden stylus, a collage board with foil sheets, a drawing panel with foam stamps and an ink pad, and pre-cut cardboard sheets for building 3D models and scenes. Every project centres on cute, furry animals, so the finished pieces look like they belong together.
Skills that build as they work
Scratching a design through a card surface needs steady, controlled pressure. Pressing out cardboard pieces and slotting them into standing animals builds the finger strength and precision that neat handwriting depends on. Painting within printed outlines and placing small collage pieces trains hand-eye coordination at a level that suits children of 6 and up.
The step-by-step booklet matters here. Reading a sequence of instructions, working through it and checking the result is the same habit children use later when following a science experiment or a multi-step maths problem.
From flat pictures to 3D scenes
The progression is the clever part. Children begin with flat work such as painting and drawing, then move into 3D models and finally a full 3D scene. By the end they've planned, assembled and arranged a small world of their own, and many turn the finished animals into a storytelling game.
The kit also grows with the child. At 6, most children focus on the simpler painting and scratch projects and need a little help with the first few steps. By 8 to 10, they handle the detailed collage and layered 3D scenes more neatly and quickly, and often add their own touches. Once the box is finished, the Art & Craft range has more projects to move on to.
Practical notes
Expect quiet, focused play at the table, suited to solo crafting or working alongside a sibling or friend. It's an indoor activity, best set up on a wipe-clean surface with a cup of water for the paints. Each activity is a self-contained project, so children can complete one at a time over several sessions and keep coming back to the box.
