The Element of Surprise
Standard marble runs are all about watching the action, but the Tunnels expansion changes the rules. Now, the metal spheres disappear into curved and straight tunnels, travelling through the dark before shooting out the other side. It creates a 'now you see it, now you don't' effect that keeps spectators guessing. You can even use the tunnel switches to send marbles on different hidden paths, making the outcome a genuine surprise every time. Note: This is an expansion and requires a GraviTrax Starter Set to play.
Defying Gravity
This isn't just about covering up the track. The set includes vertical U-turns that allow marbles to drop and reverse direction in a tight loop, saving space and adding speed. You also get special Bernoulli rails—plastic tracks designed to manipulate speed and stability in ways standard rails can't. These pieces encourage experimentation with kinetic energy, teaching kids that sometimes the fastest route isn't a straight line.
Expanding the Challenge
Because the marble is hidden for sections of the run, builders have to rely on physics and planning rather than just reacting to what they see. It forces them to visualise the path inside the tunnel. Does the marble have enough speed to make it through the curve? Will it exit at the right angle? It's a brilliant way to deepen the engineering challenge without feeling like a science lesson.
