Open the bag and the salon is ready
Tip out the bag and the set opens like a real hairdresser's trolley. A comb, hairdryer, scissors and handheld mirror sit alongside clippers, a vintage-style razor, and wooden shaving foam, styling wax and sea salt spray. Children quickly sort out what each tool is for and who gets which cut: a trim, a shave, a new style.
Magnetic blades that change the look
The clippers are the standout. Their
interchangeable magnetic blades click on and off, so a child can swap attachments between clients and decide which cut the job calls for. Lining up a blade and feeling it pull into place is satisfying, and it builds the controlled hand movements behind
fine motor skills such as holding scissors and a pencil. Handling the comb, scissors and razor adds more practice with the tripod grip.
Role-play that grows with them
Around
3 years, children copy actions they have seen: combing, blow-drying, holding up the mirror. By 4 and 5, they run the whole appointment. They greet the client, ask what they would like, work through the steps, show the result and name a price. That sequence builds
vocabulary, turn-taking and early social skills, especially with a sibling or friend in the chair. The set plays quietly, and the bag goes wherever the game does.
Built to last
The set is made from FSC-certified wood and decorated with water-based, non-toxic paints. It is plastic free, solid and smooth to handle, and the magnets inside the clippers are hidden for safety. It has been vetted by our Special Education teacher, suits indoor play and travels easily in its cotton bag. It is an easy fit for a play corner next to a
dolls house or a shop.
