The Daily Commute
Unfold the jigsaw-style road and you're ready to drive. The premise is simple: race your bus to the station with the most passengers. But the route is full of twists. A roll of the dice moves your bus, landing you on a plus or minus square. This determines the action—picking people up or dropping them off. You then spin the spinner to find out exactly how many passengers to move. It turns the abstract concept of 'take away' into a physical action—removing a card from the bus—which helps young brains solidify the link between the symbol and the quantity.
Beyond The Counting
While the maths is the headline act, the social learning is just as valuable. There is a specific resilience required when you land on a minus square and have to empty your bus just before the finish line. Navigating these small setbacks in a low-stakes environment builds the emotional regulation they'll need for the playground and the classroom. You'll hear them calculating their odds: "If I spin a 3, I'll have full seats!"
Designed for Hands
As with all Orchard Toys games, the components are built for enthusiastic play. The boards are thick, recycled cardboard that wipes clean, and the illustrations feature a diverse range of characters—from elderly passengers to school kids—sparking conversations about who is riding the bus today.
Dimensions Note: The box measures approximately 26cm x 22.5cm x 5cm, making it easy to stack in a game cupboard or slide into a bag for travel.
