The fit that gets worn
A helmet only protects a child who keeps it on. The spin dial at the back lets you tighten the band until the shell sits level on the forehead, then loosen it when the next growth spurt arrives. Fitting takes a few seconds, which matters at the front door when a toddler is already trying to climb on the bike. The chin strap closes with a no-pinch magnetic buckle. It pulls itself together under the chin, so there is no skin-nipping clip to fight with. This is the stage where children begin to resist anything that pinches or fiddles, and a simple buckle removes most of that argument.
Built for early riding
The outer shell is hard ABS plastic, with a lightweight inner shell and foam pads for comfort. The helmet is tested and approved for Australian standards. Eleven air vents run through the shell, so heads stay cooler on a summer ride to the park. It is light enough for a small neck that is still building strength. The finish is a smooth, slightly retro shape in Vintage Blue. It matches the Trybike Vintage Blue balance bike, so the set looks like it belongs together. A child who sees the helmet as half of their bike pulls it on without being asked.
Sizing and where it leads
The XS fits head circumferences of 45 to 51 cm. Measure around the widest part of the head, just above the eyebrows, and check against that range rather than relying on age alone. Many children are ready for a balance bike from around 18 months, and this size carries them from their first push-and-glide through to confident riding at 3 and 4 years. As their head grows, the dial lets you take up the slack or release it so the helmet keeps fitting until they outgrow the size.
