Longer runs, bigger ideas
A starter Air Toobz set is great for an afternoon. Then the tubes run out and the build outgrows the kit. This 100-foot roll of poly tubing (about 30 metres) fixes that. Children snip off the length they need, push it onto a connector and lock it in place.
Cutting, joining and locking takes careful two-handed coordination, and it changes as children grow. At 3 and 4 they push sections together and send the ball through with an adult handling the scissors. By 5 or 6 they cut to length, fit the locks themselves and plan a route before they build it.
Testing, tweaking, trying again
Once the fan is running, every layout becomes a small experiment. Does the ball make it around that tight bend? Why did it stall halfway up the wall? Children work through cause and effect by changing one thing at a time, which is how early engineering thinking starts.
Expect a build to change several times in a single session. You'll hear the ball whoosh through the tubing and the fan hum quietly behind it. It works well alone, and even better with a sibling or friend holding one end while the other drops the ball in at the start.
Where it fits
The kit works with any Air Toobz tubes and accessories, so it grows an existing collection rather than replacing it. It is an add-on only. You'll need the Air Toobz fan unit, tubes and balls, plus scissors for cutting (adult supervision recommended). The 100-foot roll is enough to cross a lounge room, loop a hallway or run out onto a covered patio. Connectors and locks are small parts, so it is recommended for ages 3 and up.
