The Confidence to Explore
Most ride-ons are either too tippy for toddlers or too babyish for preschoolers. The Trybike bridges this gap by starting as a low-profile tricycle. At 15 months, your child is still mastering their centre of gravity. The third wheel provides the stability they need to focus on the mechanics of steering and pushing without the fear of falling. You'll see them build the leg strength and coordination that are the precursors to walking and running.
The Transition to Mastery
When they've mastered the steering and are picking up speed—usually around 2 or 3 years old—you simply remove the rear axle and convert it into a two-wheeled balance bike. This is where their coordination takes over. Unlike pedal bikes with training wheels (which teach children to lean the wrong way), this method teaches them to balance first. They learn to lift their feet and glide, using the integrated footrest to experience the sensation of momentum.
Built for Real Australian Play
Plastic wheels rattle and slide on uneven surfaces, which can shake a child's confidence. The Trybike uses 12-inch pneumatic tyres—just like a real mountain bike. These air-filled tyres provide suspension and grip, allowing your child to ride smoothly over grass at the park, gravel paths, or bumpy footpaths. The steel frame is finished with a tough, chip-resistant powder coating that handles being dropped, ridden hard, and passed down to siblings.
